PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated June 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Vruyr Saribekyan, doing business as Christians ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you use the Christians mobile application, our websites, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services. If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].

SUMMARY OF KEY POINTS

What personal information do we process? We process information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Services, device and technical information, notification token information, content you create or upload, community activity such as help requests and challenge participation, and certain advertising-related information.

Do we process sensitive personal information? We do not intentionally require special-category personal data. However, because Christians is a faith-based community app, information you voluntarily share in your profile, messages, forum posts, prayer requests, Faith Capsule entries, or other content may reveal religious beliefs or similar sensitive information.

Do the Services include community help and activity features? Yes. The Services include a community help and volunteering board, spiritual challenges (including Bible reading and verse memorization), a shared "good deeds" counter, and a Faith Capsule feature. Some of this activity is visible to other users.

Do we receive information from third parties? In some cases, yes. For example, if you use social login, interact with ads, or when the app uses third-party infrastructure services to operate features.

How do we use your information? We use information to provide the Services, manage accounts, enable messaging and calls, operate the community help board and challenges, deliver notifications, support moderation and safety, operate advertising, respond to requests, and comply with legal obligations.

Are all private chat features end-to-end encrypted? Private direct messages, including text messages, images, and voice messages, are designed to use end-to-end encryption for message content. At this time, blog posts shared in direct messages are not end-to-end encrypted and may be processed by our servers in order to generate and deliver the shared post preview.

Do we transfer data internationally? Yes, depending on the service provider involved. We apply appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law.

What rights do users have? Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information.

  22. HOW TO CONTACT US

1. WHO WE ARE

Christians is a mobile application for Christian communication, learning, community interaction, messaging, group communication, forum participation, watch rooms, media sharing, quizzes, Bible reading, community help and volunteering, spiritual challenges, and related features. Some features may display advertising.

2. WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Information you provide directly

We may collect information you provide when you register, fill in your profile, communicate with other users, upload content, post or respond to community help requests, participate in challenges, contact support, or otherwise use the Services. This may include:

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you use the Services, we may automatically collect or generate certain technical and usage information, including:

2.3 Push notification and device token data

To deliver notifications and incoming call alerts, we may process and store:

2.4 Advertising information

When advertising is available, we and our advertising partners may process:

2.5 Messages and communication metadata

When you send messages or upload files, we may process encrypted message payloads, media files, metadata, sender and recipient identifiers, delivery status, and reaction or reply references. Direct message text, images, and voice messages are designed to use end-to-end encryption for message content where implemented. However, blog posts shared in direct messages are currently not end-to-end encrypted. Shared blog post previews may therefore be processed by our servers to generate, store, and deliver the preview shown in chat. Some private media may be served using protected URLs, authorization checks, or token-based access controls.

2.6 Calls, watch rooms, and shared viewing

When you use voice or video calling or watch room features, we may process technical and service data needed to provide those features, including:

2.7 Forum and community data

If you use community features, we may process:

2.8 Community help, challenges, and Faith Capsule data

If you use the community help board, challenges, or the Faith Capsule, we may process the related content and activity described in Sections 10, 11, and 12, including help requests and responses, a shared "good deeds" counter, challenge participation and progress, and Faith Capsule entries.

2.9 Locally stored data on your device

The app may store certain information locally on your device for usability and performance, such as selected language, pending language sync flags, message cache, recent Bible reading position, and preferences.

2.10 Sensitive information

We do not intentionally require users to provide special-category personal data. However, because Christians is a faith-based application, information you voluntarily include in your profile, messages, forum posts, prayer-related content, Faith Capsule entries, or community interactions may reveal religious beliefs or similar sensitive information. You should share such information only if you are comfortable doing so.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use personal information to:

4. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING

Where GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

5. ADVERTISING AND TRACKING

The Services may display advertising provided through Google AdMob.

Where required by applicable law:

You can also control certain advertising settings through your device settings and platform privacy controls.

6. SOCIAL LOGIN AND THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

If you choose to sign in or register using a third-party account, such as Google, we may receive account information made available by that provider, such as your name, email address, profile image, and account identifier, depending on the provider and your settings.

We may also rely on third-party service providers to operate parts of the Services, including providers involved in hosting, cloud storage, push delivery, media delivery, authentication, ads, content embedding, and customer support.

7. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS AND CALL ALERTS

If you enable notifications, we may process push-related data to:

For encrypted messaging, push notifications may use generic or encrypted previews so that message content is not exposed in plaintext through notification delivery.

You can disable notifications in your device settings.

8. MESSAGES, CALLS, MEDIA, AND WATCH ROOMS

8.1 Messages and media

When you send messages or upload files, we may process encrypted message payloads, media files, metadata, sender and recipient identifiers, delivery status, and reaction or reply references. Some private media may be served using protected URLs, authorization checks, or token-based access controls.

8.2 Voice and video calls

Voice and video calls are transmitted in real time between participants. We may process call metadata and technical signaling information necessary to establish and operate the connection, including call IDs, participant identifiers, call state, timestamps, duration, and WebRTC signaling data.

8.3 Watch rooms

If you create or join a watch room, we may process room name, room ID, host ID, privacy status, private room access keys, video metadata, playback state, participant information, viewer counts, room messages, and reactions in order to operate the feature.

9. FORUM AND COMMUNITY FEATURES

Forum and community features may involve processing threads, replies, reactions, poll participation, tags, subscriptions, moderation records, and related metadata.

Where implemented by the service, some forum content may be encrypted at rest. We may also store operational metadata such as user IDs, timestamps, moderation flags, reaction records, and poll-related data in order to provide the forum feature.

10. COMMUNITY HELP AND VOLUNTEERING

The Services include a community help and volunteering board where users can ask for volunteer help and offer to help others. This feature is intended for non-commercial, volunteer mutual aid within the community.

10.1 Information processed

When you create a help request, we process the request title, description, category, the city or area you choose to enter, the number of helpers needed, timestamps, and your user identifier and profile information (such as your name and profile photo) shown together with the request. When you respond to or comment on a request, we process your identifier, the response or comment content, and timestamps.

10.2 Good deeds counter

The Services maintain a "good deeds" counter that reflects volunteer activity, such as responding to help requests and completing challenges. Aggregate totals and per-user counts may be shown to you and to other users.

10.3 Visibility

Help requests, responses, comments, and the associated profile information are visible to other users of the Services. Please share location and personal details only at the level you are comfortable with. We recommend that you do not include your exact home address, financial details, or other sensitive information in a help request.

10.4 Prohibited use

The help board is for volunteer help only. Requesting money or material goods, solicitation, begging, fraud, or extortion is prohibited. Content posted to the help board is subject to moderation and may be reported by other users and removed, and accounts that violate these rules may be restricted or banned (see Section 13).

11. CHALLENGES AND SPIRITUAL ACTIVITY

The Services include spiritual challenges, such as daily habit challenges, Bible reading plans, and verse-memorization challenges.

11.1 Information processed

When you join and participate in challenges, we process which challenges you join, your daily completion or check-ins, streaks, the number of completed days, start and update timestamps, the Bible chapters you open or mark as read for reading challenges, and the verses you mark as memorized.

11.2 Visibility

Certain challenge information may be visible to other users, including the challenges you are participating in, your progress, your presence in a list of participants for a given challenge, and challenge-related counts shown on your profile.

11.3 Bible reading activity

For reading challenges, activity such as which chapters you open in the Bible reader may be processed to record and display your reading-challenge progress.

12. FAITH CAPSULE

The Faith Capsule feature lets you write and store a prayer or message that is "sealed" for a period you choose and revealed to you later, and to keep a personal record of whether a prayer was answered.

We process and store the content you place into a capsule (such as a title and body), the duration you choose, the seal and reveal dates, and any answered-prayer status and notes you add afterward. This content is associated with your account and stored on our infrastructure so that it can be delivered back to you at the scheduled time.

Because Faith Capsule content is prayer-related, it may reveal religious beliefs or similar sensitive information (see Section 2.10). You should include such information only if you are comfortable doing so.

13. MODERATION, SAFETY, AND ENFORCEMENT

We may process content and account information when needed to:

Moderation actions may involve account restrictions or bans, content removal, notification handling, and preservation of related records where reasonably necessary. When an account is banned, related content such as the user's open help requests may be hidden or removed.

14. WHEN WE SHARE INFORMATION

We may share personal information with service providers and partners that help us operate the Services, including providers involved in:

Depending on the feature you use, this may include providers such as Google, Apple, Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare, and YouTube. We may also share information:

15. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on where our infrastructure and service providers operate. Where required by applicable law, we apply appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

Some service providers involved in messaging, advertising, notifications, authentication, or content delivery may process data outside your country of residence.

16. HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION

We retain personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the Services.

Examples may include:

17. HOW WE KEEP INFORMATION SAFE

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls, authentication, protected media delivery, encryption where implemented, and security middleware. Certain direct message content, such as text, images, and voice messages, is designed to use end-to-end encryption where implemented. However, not all features are end-to-end encrypted. For example, blog posts shared in direct messages are currently not end-to-end encrypted, and community content such as help requests, forum posts, and challenge activity is not end-to-end encrypted because it is designed to be shown to other users or processed by our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

You should use the Services only in a secure environment and keep your account credentials confidential.

18. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The Services are not directed to children where prohibited by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of applicable law, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

19. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have rights such as:

To exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected] or use any in-app or website privacy request tools we make available.

20. DATA EXPORT AND ACCOUNT DELETION

20.1 Data export

If you request a data export, we may prepare an export package containing certain account and activity data and send a time-limited download link to the email address associated with your account.

20.2 Account deletion

If you request account deletion, we take steps to delete the user record and directly associated data covered by our deletion workflow, such as certain posts, notifications, block records, avatar files, forum content, and some follower or request references.

Some information may be retained for a limited period where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, moderation, legal compliance, technical integrity, or backup and archival processes. If certain content or metadata is not immediately removed from all systems, it will be handled according to our retention and operational processes.

21. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version and revise the “Last updated” date above. If required by law, we will provide additional notice.
